The African American Supplier Engagement Collaboration (AASEC) serves to help increase major public and private sector organizations increase the number of African American businesses serving as qualified suppliers of goods and services. The AASEC is a new consortium of well-established business trade groups including the National Black Business Council, the California Black Chamber of Commerce and the Black Business Association.
The consortium works to strengthen corporate relationship with businesses owned by African-Americans. The AASEC is building new opportunities for major corporations to develop enduring partnerships with African-American-owned companies, based on a solid value proposition
for all involved.

Also, endorsed by California public agencies and elected officials, the AASEC ensures that the
fundamental duty of government of providing a broad range of services for our citizenry works with
small business as substantive partners on projects that support the public good.
The initiatives of the AASEC include:
• An open exchange of information on bidding/estimating request-for-proposal processes
• Providing a template showing African-American owned businesses a variety of ways in which they, in turn, can engage African-American-owned businesses. |
